Here's a great recipe for your hummingbird feeder

An easy recipe that humming birds love is four parts water to one part sugar.  It's okay to use tap water and the sugar is just the common white sugar cane you'd find in sugar packets.

Some people like to boil the water/sugar mixture to make breaking down the sugar crystals easier, but it's not really necessary.

We like to mix this recipe up in a plastic gallon milk jug. After putting the two ingredients in, just replace the screw on cap and shake it up! This breaks the sugar cystals down nicely and there's no mess.

Fill your humming bird feeder with this nectar, replace the cap on the gallon jug and place the gallon into the refrigerator for the next use.

You should empty and replace the nectar once a week - more often in hot days of the summer. If possible, try to place the feeder in the shade.

Cleaning your hummingbird feeder is easiest with mild detergent  and warm water. Rinse thoroughly each time you replace the nectar.

This recipe is perfect for North American humming birds.
